Huawei E1752 Mobile Broadband on Jolicloud/Ubuntu

I got myself a nice little Samsung N210 netbook the other day.
With it came a subscription to “Telenor Mobile Broadband”.
I also got Windows 7 pre-installed, of course – which I didn’t want, of course.

Would you pay for Facebook?

OK. Time for some thoughts about Facebook…

I’ve been getting a lot of invitations, like “We refuse to pay for Facebook – We are gone if this happens” and  “I will not pay for facebook from july 2010″ lately, and I’ve got something to say about you guys who joins these groups (and keep inviting me)…

First off all:

Yes you will. You fucking will!

Some concerns and some statistics…

I checked out three different statistics for my blog today, and I have to say I’m both concerned, or a bit upset if you will, and also intrigued by what I found.

Turns out that I have almost a 50/50 split between Microsoft Windows users and Mac OS X users among my visitors.

46.5% of my visitors are on some kind of Windows-based system. 46.4% of you are Mac-users.

GUIDE: Mac OS X, Popcorn Hour A-110, YAMJ & The ÆON Movie Wall Skin…

This post is kind of a follow-up on my review of the Popcorn Hour A-110, and will cover installation of YAMJ – Yet Another Movie Jukebox, and the fabulous ÆON Movie Wall Skin together with some nice mods. The guide is intended for Mac OS X users, and the reason I’m writing it is because I had a hard time installing YAMJ myself, since all good guides out there seem to be written for Windows users. All the Mac guides I found were poorly written, lacking explanations, jumping over steps and stuff like that (No offence, writers!). When I got the shit working, I came to the conclusion that if the guide(s) I was following had been good, I could have done it in twenty minutes or so, instead of spending hours.

Review: Popcorn Hour A-110

Here’s my review of a nice little box i picked up, called the Popcorn Hour A-110.

First of all, What is a “Popcorn Hour”?

The PCH A-110 is a so-called Networked Media Tank, or NMT.
It’s a small 300 MHz Linux-based computer equipped with a Sigma SMP8635 chipset, 256MB of DDR SDRAM and 32MB of Flash memory.

Popcorn Hour A-110

The PCH A-110 enables you to play movies and music, and also watch pictures stored on any disk or machine in your local network on your TV or HiFi system. The box support a long list of media types, both audio files and video files (up to 1080p). Check the official PCH site for a full list of supported formats and specs.

Great Stand-Up!

Since I wrote a recommendation of good TV-shows, I thought I’d recommend a couple of great stand-up artist also.

I tend to get hang-ups on certain things, like hobbies, TV-shows, movies of a certain type etc. Right now I have a hang-up on stand-up (again) and especially the four guys I’m mentioning here.

The iMac G3 Project…

I got myself a new computer yesterday!

OK, fair enough – it’s not brand new.
It’s an iMac G3 with a 400 MHz processor, a so-called “Blueberry”. It was released in late 1999, and I remember thinking “Holy shit! That’s a sexy motherfucker!” when it came out. It’s got a 10 GB hdd, 64 MB of memory, a slot-in CD-Rom, “Fast Ethernet”, FireWire and USB.
